BMW has declared they will recall approximately 350,000 luxury cars worldwide as a result of problem with brakes.
The German auto maker said the recall was because of a fault in the power-braking system but the vehicles are not harmful.
The recall impacts V8 and V12 engine cars inside the BMW 5, 6 and 7 ranges, and even Rolls-Royce , a BMW subsidiary – created between July 2001 and November 2009.
Of the total, 11,427 vehicles – which includes 905 Rolls-Royces – are in the UK, and 198,000 in the USA.
Globally, 348,000 BMWs are affected, including further 5,800 Rolls-Royces.
‘Voluntary’ choice
“In the determined autos, a problem may develop in the power braking device, possibly leading to a vacuum reduction and consequent decrease in power braking support,” claimed the company in a statement.
However, mechanical braking is readily available to stop and slow the car, and there were no reported mishaps or injuries.

A BMW spokesperson informed the BBC that the condition was diagnosed via feedback via routine vehicle servicing, and that the recall is fully voluntary.
BMW’s share price fell 3% following the reports, to under 50 euros.
Nevertheless, their stock remains well up for that year, having rallied originating from a worth of 30 euros in March.
The news comes a day after the US National Highway traffic Safety Administration explained it was analyzing a possible power steering issue with the Mini – another brand owned by BMW.
It also comes a day right after BMW’s chairman, Norbert Reithofer, had his contract lengthened by 6 years.
