To mark the 125^th year of mercedes-benz in the automobile industry, they introduced their new collection that includes branded products and special scale models created by the Stuttgart-based car creator.

In addition to the celebration of the Mercedes-benz history, these 1:43 miniature models were chosen to showcase each milestone.  Among the selected miniature cars are:

• The first motor car in the world, the 1886 Benz Patent Motor Car,
• 1902 Mercedes-Benz Simplex,
• 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500 K Special Roadster,
• 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe,
• 1972 S-Class, and
• The most recent Mercedes-Benz CLS.

The miniature models have around 1,250 units left.  It is a limited edition. A booklet on the history of the model is included in the special packaging, as well as the metal badge that features a serial number.  The mini car models costs $71.95 or €49.90.

Aside from the miniature models, there are other special anniversary items such as the polo shirt, a cap, a silver-plated key ring, a bag and an umbrella.  All of these items have the silver, black and white color scheme with the ‘125! Years of Innovation’ lettering on them.

German luxury automobile manufacturer mercedes-benz is in Australia for the launch of the G-Class wagon. The popular off-roader is being tested and showcased in Northern Tasmania in Narawntapu National Park.

About 14 Australian journalists and 4 from overseas have been requested to experience the G-Class off-road where it really belongs. Jerry Stamoulis said, “No one got out of the amg without a smile –the sound of exhaust and the look is amazing but the diesel was also very impressive up the hills.”

Launched in 1979, more than 200,000 units of the Mercedes-benz G-Class have been sold. Jerry Stamoulis, Mercedes-Benz Australia’s spokesperson, said, “The scenery was the only thing that slowed us down because everyone was trying to take photos.”

He further noted that the Australian Defense Force have already acquired 1200 units of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. He is not keen on remarking on what and how they are going to use it for.

“The design has been around for 32 years and the development that has happened over that time is second to none off road.” he mentions.

The G-Class’ look may not have changed very much over the years but its improved performance have been obviously observed. Mercedes-Benz originally supplied the vehicle to the government in the 1970s. The German army needed a lighter vehicle to use so Mercedes-Benz developed such a vehicle. In 1979, they offered the G-Class to the public.

The G-Class G350 has a V6 diesel engine which has the capacity to develop 155 kilowatts with 3400 revolutions per minute (rpm). A torque of 540Nm is produced with 1600 to 2400 revolutions per minute (rpm).
